Rebates on items you buy

There are rebates on meat, water, chips, and other food items we already buy. It is like finding $6 and/or $8. These rebates are by the beer. I cannot believe I am saying go look by the beer. It you do you may find the rebates. The products must be bought between the first and the 31st. With some luck if you have your receipts you can send them in spending no more money. It is almost like finding money. You do not have to buy beer to get the beer companies' money. I found rebates at Smith's. Buying items on sale, with coupons and with rebates is low cost to no cost food.

Does anyone know if the price of food to buy on these rebates is before or after coupons?

Free Curly's BBQ

Smith's has Curly's pulled meat in barbecue sauce buy one get one free. There were coupons at the store for buy one get one free. That made two free. Their corn in .25 each and oranges about .50 lb. Combine with buns .88 days ago. and dinner is under a dollar a person healthy and easy.

Chick-Fil-A

Reserve your own Spicy Chicken Sandwich here. You can pick the date and time you want. I cannot get it to work right now but I guess it has been working.

Taco Bell has a printable coupon for a free limeade Sparkler. This sounds like a cool free drink on a hot day.

Huggies $3 Coupons

I forgot to mention the $3 Huggles printable coupon is loaded and printing again. This works with the sale at Walgreens going on now. Two diapers for $18 -$3 Register Rewards and -$3 each for a bag of diapers that is $9 off and $9 for 2 bags of diapers or $4.50 a Jumbo bag of Huggies diapers. For the size 3 that is .14 cents a diaper. Figuring out how much each diaper costs is the best way to figure out if the diapers are a good price.

When printed if they do not say manufacturer's coupon they can be put with a manufacturer's coupon to make the deal even better. Here are the printable coupons. They also have $3 off Huggies diapers. This says it is a manufactures coupon so you cannot use it with other coupons. However their Little Swimmers $1.50 coupon can be used with a $1.50 Manufactures printable coupon.

Save Money by Rotating

I think one of my least favorite ways to lose money is throwing away food. People buy food then do not rotate food and end up throwing it away. It is important to have a system in place to help with rotation. This can be a written spreadsheet with tally marks or numbers by the item, amount, date bought and date to use by. Or it can be a location system. When I buy a new can I put it behind the older cans. This way I know what can to use first. Every six months or less depending on the size and style of your food storage it is important to go through it to see what you have and what you might need. This can change what you buy and also what you use. Look for items that should be used soon. You can set aside a place for items needing to be used. Then when you plan a menu or a meal use these items first.

I like to keep the fridge organized with a place for leftovers or other foods that will not last very long. This helps eliminate the mystery items and moldy science experiments that can grow in the fridge. I like using leftovers in new meals. For example left over meat and vegetables can go into a soup. When I do this there is not that leftover stigma and dinner is easier to cook.

Free Makeup

I had to try this one out before putting it on the blog. Rite Aid has Cover Girl Makeup buy one get one free. Red plum delivered to your home 4/7 a buy one get one Cover Girl product free coupon. If you use the coupon you get two free Cover Girl items as long as they meet the requirements on the coupon and the store sale. You do have to pay tax. I like free makeup!

Reminder

I just wanted to remind you it is the beginning of the month and that means if you have Rite Aid rebates to submit it is time to do it so you can get money in the mail. They are relatively quick to send the checks. 2-4 weeks they say to send the checks. I suggest you find a place to keep all your Rite Aid reciepts so that it is easy to get the rebates. You need to have all of your reciepts from the month together at the time you submit them because you can only submit them one time a month.

Nivea at Walgreens

I went to Rite Aid to see if the Nivea buy $15 worth and get $5 register rewards would be worth it. If you have more than one set of coupons it could pay you money. I would call for selection before going. The last couple of times I have been the selection consisted of an empty shelf. They have body wash for $3.99 and $5.59. I found that most interesting because of the $3 and $4 coupons. The Nivea lip gloss is $3.19 and there is a $1 coupon for it. This is usually more than I would pay for it but if you need a few more dollars to get to $15 this is a good option. If you can find four $3.99 body washes and have four $4 coupons you will buy $15.96 worth of product and use $16 worth of coupons and get $5 register rewards. You will need to buy something worth the four cents higher the coupons are than the price of the product and you will make $5 register rewards and spend zero. If you do not have that many coupons you can still get a good deal depending on their selection and what you want. Also, with all the free after register rewards they had last week this seems to be a popular way to spend/trade register rewards.

I have noticed that by shopping at drugstores I pay less than 50 cents for lots of personal care products and they are often free. It is a little more work to go to one more store.
